Neo-Eco Ukraine, Central Project Management Agency and the Mayor of #Shevskenkova were present at the #URC24 and formalised their collaboration to rebuild the school and bomb shelter in #Zeleny Hai, #Mykolaiv in #Ukraine with a modular, #sustainable approach and #civicparticipation.
Mayor Pylypenko stated, “On March 13th, 2022, Russian aircraft destroyed a school in the village of Zeleny Hai. Village leader Mykola Strutynskyi and school principal Oleksandr Hnedko died there. After the de-occupation, 90% of the residents returned to the village, but their children are forced to study online. The school building was the main educational and cultural center in the village, its reconstruction will give people confidence in the future.”
Artūras Žarnovskis from Central Project Management Agency added, “#Ukraine is a country that continues to fight for its children’s education even during wartime, and we strongly support it. Returning to safe offline education is our main goal, as education cannot be put on hold. Signing the Memorandum of Understanding with our partners is more than just a good intention. It is a well-planned mission to revive education in the community of #ZelenyHai, setting a standard for swift, efficient, and sustainable schools’ recovery. Our successful projects in rebuilding schools and kindergartens in #Ukraine have revealed the best solutions for addressing the challenges of destroyed infrastructure. The modular school with a shelter in #ZelenyiHai will be the blueprint of best practices and our profound expertise. It will use circular economy principles, like transforming deconstruction waste into high-quality building materials. Furthermore, the school will become a center of social engagement and community regeneration. We also extend our gratitude to the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania, who share our vision and contribute to this meaningful project.”
Kate Le Moignic 🇺🇦 Le Moignic concluded, “Ukraine Resilience, Neo-Eco Ukraine’s NGO, is honoured to announce its collaboration with Central Project Management Agency from #Lithuania, turning destruction into renewal, by rebuilding #ZelenyHai school and bomb shelter in the #Mykolaiv region, after its destruction in 2022. Rebuilding a school and bomb shelter with recycled materials not only regenerates the community but also sets a powerful example for schools across the nation. Together, we hope to craft a future where #innovation, #civic participation and #sustainability will pave the way for enhanced, modular educational structures and the #circulareconomy in #Ukraine.
